My True Love Gave To Me...

12 Days of Christmas Cake. Ginger Cake soaked with Ginger Cognac, filled with Caramelized Pears and frosted with Pear Buttercream.








Christmas Cakes.

Two Christmas Cakes featuring International Greetings for "Merry Christmas." The first is Romanian and the second is Portuguese.




Orange-Cardamom-Spice Cake filled with Mulled Wine-Cranberry Curd, frosted with Pomegranate Buttercream and topped with Pink Fondant.



Chocolate Cake filled with Chocolate Ganache and frosted with Milk Chocolate Buttercream.

My version of a very modern Christmas Tree. Eggnog and Chocolate Cake layers with Eggnog Buttercream and covered in about 100 fondant "ornaments."

Cake created for the Day of the Dead. She is Red Velvet Cake with Vanilla Buttercream and Fondant. Everything from her torso up is hand-sculpted using Fondant and painted with Wilton Color Dyes and Gold Luster Dust.

Capistrano Spring Break.

This cake was created for the Threadcakes Competition. Open to both professional and novice bakers, the rules are to chose a Threadless T-shirt design and then create a cake based on that design. I was too intimadated to enter last year. This year, I did enter and ended up being a finalist. Below is the cake, my inital design and the original artwork by Andy Gonsalves.

Cake for The Newtown Road Film Festival, an outdoor Summer film series. This is for their finale screening of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Red Velvet Cake with Vanilla Buttercream and Fondant.

Cake created for the Assistant Company Manager of Cirque Du Soleil's ZARKANA, currently playing at Radio City Music Hall. Red Velvet and Chocolate cakes with Vanilla Buttercream and Fondant.



Rock On!

Cupcakes for the Broadway company of ROCK OF AGES. Chocolate With Cherry Buttercream and Pumpkin with Bourbon-Brown-Sugar Buttercream. Ordered by Ms. Jennifer Rias, the Dance Captain who is also making her Broadway debut!










Tea Time.

Teacup Cake for Lisa Beeson, General Manager at the Palm Court at the World-Famous PLAZA HOTEL...considered to be NYC's "premier destination for Afternoon Tea." Yellow Cake filled and covered with Chocolate Buttercream.









Shoes.

Running Shoe Cakes (and a pedometer) created for two events. The first was for NYU Medical Center's Global Corporate Challenge and the second was for a team's 5K Race.








Santa Maria.

Replica of the Santa Maria ordered for a birthday. Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream and Chocolate Fondant.
